The Singles Network Ministries purpose is to:Churches around the country have one of the most valuable resources that they may not be aware of...the adult single. Over 50% of the country's population is single. It averages around 37-40% in the church, depending on age and region. In 1 Corinthians 7:32, the word of God tells us of the high-value singleness can bring to the church's mission and ministry, however, there is not much out there to help pastors or churches when it comes to Singles Ministry. That is where The Singles Network Ministries comes in and is our focus.
The Singles Network Ministries purpose: Impacting the lives of single adults through individual mentoring and partnering with the local church to build Biblical community. Developing a single adult ministry is not just about hosting social events or providing an environment for finding a mate, although heaven forbid you find your spouse in church, instead, it's about teaching single adults to find Christ, become whole and, in turn, teach others to do the same. Relationships with each other will develop naturally as a result of group members having right relationships with Christ. How We Do It We accomplish this through consulting, speaking, conferences, seminars, and leadership development activities primarily led by Kris Swiatocho, our director. We also have a great source of other pastors, directors, and leaders who contribute articles, comments, and ideas for singles ministry. Our most recent class offering, Intentional Relationships for Singles, provides an excellent foundation for starting a new ministry or adding it to your curriculum toolbox. The content is rich in relationship material and depth for deepening your single's faith and providing a healthy path for relationships. We also encourage churches to send their leaders and singles to our annual National Singles and Leaders Retreat in the NC Mountains. This retreat started by Lifeway in 1979, and in 2014 it was taken over by The Singles Network Ministries. This retreat has been hugely successful in reaching singles for Christ, developing leaders, and providing resources, not to mention a ton of fun. Ephesians 3:14-21: For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Congrats Kris: A message from the founders of The Singles Network, Carolyn and Gary JusticeOur HistoryKris Swiatocho, Gary Justice
1989 - Kris Swiatocho started attending SOLO: Singles Offering Life to Others led by Pastor Tom Harris. SOLO was a large young adult singles ministry that met weekly at St. Mark's Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC. Upon attending, volunteering, and eventually serving in leadership, she would learn first-hand how to start and grow singles ministry.
1995 - The Triangle Singles Network was founded by former Pastor Chuck Milian of Crossroads Fellowship Church (also one of the leaders of SOLO) and Craig Seibert of Campus Crusade for Christ as an outreach for single adults in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. Later, Gary and Carolyn Justice would lead the ministry under the leadership of Priority Associates, a Campus Crusade Ministry. Its goal was to network churches, provide leadership development and support, and a monthly gathering for singles called Believer's Community. Believer's Community was very thriving in its outreach to singles not only in the Raleigh-Durham area but other cities two or more hours away. Kris Swiatocho would again attend, volunteer and become one of its leaders. 2000 - The Triangle Singles Network changes its name to The Singles Network to allow more growth outside the Raleigh-Durham, NC area. The "monthly gathering" part of The Singles Network, called "Believers Community," moved to Crossroads Fellowship Church in Raleigh, NC, led by Singles Pastor Bryan Finley and Kris Swiatocho; at the same time, the leadership and networking stayed with Priority Associates. Fusion, a singles ministry geared towards twenty-somethings, was also formed underneath The Singles Network and led by Kris Swiatocho. 2002 - Fusion Singles merged with The Singles Network. Gary and Carolyn turned the reins over to Kris Swiatocho. The name was changed to The Singles Network Ministries, a stand-alone ministry led by Kris Swiatocho. Believer's Community would stay underneath the leadership of Pastor Bryan Finley for the next several years. During these years, Kris would develop The Singles Network Ministries website that includes resources for pastors, leaders, singles, and her speaking ministry. She would write the first of many Bible studies and articles on singleness and leadership. She was also a regular contributor with her personal column for Crosswalk Magazine. 2010 - The Singles Network Ministries had grown ten-fold. The ministry would continue to see growth beyond North Carolina to the world, including ministry in the UK, Europe, Kenya, and Uganda, developing and growing single adults, leaders, and pastors. 2011-2019 - Kris Swiatocho was a singles speaker for the K-Love Radio annual cruise. 2014 - The Singles Network Ministry overtook the leadership, with Pastor Freddy Johnson of North Point Church, the former Lifeway Annual Singles and Leaders Retreat, held each year in the NC Mountains. Kris Swiatocho also started the "Pray for a Mate" ministry to help assist churches in helping singles to pray to get healthier to one day be married. 2019 - The Singles Network Ministries move their main offices to Hendersonville, NC. They also started a new ministry, Intentional Relationship Solutions, with Pastor Dan Houk to focus on getting singles healthier in their relationships, including God, family, friends, and romance. 2020 - Kris Swiatocho started "Kris Swiatocho Ministries", a non-profit to aid in the continued work of The Singles Network Ministries, reaching churches, singles, and leaders everywhere for Christ. I have known Kris Swiatocho for the past 18 years. She has spoken at numerous events that I have sponsored, and I have been the co-speaker with her at several other events and conferences over the years. She is Biblically sound, high-energy, funny and sometimes downright hilarious. |
