Walk the Line Bible Study with Study QuestionsWalk the Line is an 8-week study for individuals or a group designed to help the reader determine the “fine line” between a set of words we often use. Words such as “happiness and joy”, “accountability and judgment”. Words that are spoken to mean the same thing, when in fact, are very different. Words, when broken down and discussed, will reveal the true meaning (e.g. words that are "self-focused" versus "other-focused").
This study also includes a leader's section and small group instruction. DOWNLOAD SAMPLE CHAPTER Walk the Line is available as a conference, retreat and/or individual seminar based on the chapters. So many times in life I would find myself saying the phrase, “There’s a fine line between this word and that word.” Often it was when I was discipling someone or in general conversation. I found that people would use some of the same words to mean the same thing when in all actuality they were different. That there was a fine line between the two. And that fine line was often where one word was “self-focused” and the other was “other-focused”. One word was about your own agenda, needs, and wants, and the other was about lifting, encouraging, or supporting the other person. So if you could determine the difference, then perhaps you would use the right word at the right time. And then the fine line wouldn’t be so fine. So after years of hearing myself say this phrase, God told me I should start writing about them. At the time, I was a featured writer with Crosswalk.com and so I offered the series to them and they accepted. From the series, I then converted the articles to a Bible study calling it “Walk the Line.” I then brought together a focus group of singles and marrieds who did the study with me, allowing input, edits, etc. So, I pray you enjoy the study, learning the differences with common words we use every day, in the hopes you grow closer to God and his direction for your life. —Kris Swiatocho Table of Contents includes leaders guide in the back. • How to do this study, as an individual6 • How to do this study, as a group • Why Walk the Line Study? • Chapter 1: Accountability vs. Judgment • Chapter 2: Happiness vs. Joy • Chapter 3: Loneliness vs. Alone-ness (download sample chapter) • Chapter 4: Gossip vs. Venting • Chapter 5: Love vs. Lust • Chapter 6: Doubt vs. Questioning God • Chapter 7: Worry vs. Concern • Chapter 8: Anger vs. Anger? • Leader’s Section • About the Author |
