An Outreach with Elephants by Jeremy Adams

In recent months amidst coronavirus, we decided to partner financially with a local church planter that is focusing on a people group in Thailand called the Koren. Different sectors of Thailand are hurting financially because of the lack of tourism. Some of the people that are in need are elephant keepers. These people support their families by giving tourist an elephant experience. So, on June 27th, the kids and I drove into a jungle area north of our city. We didn’t have too many details other than we would be giving rice and other basic necessities to people in need. I was invited by this church planter to share my testimony of how I began my relationship with Jesus. Honestly, the kids didn’t want to go with me. After driving about an hour, the road turned muddy. We turned the corner and there stud two huge elephants on the road. The men moved them off the road so that we could pass! Then about 1/2 mile up the road we arrived. People started to gather and then here came those two elephants! One guy brought bags of bananas and my kids had so much fun feeding those elephants. I shared my testimony in English while it was translated to the Koren language and then we gave the rice out. After it was over a couple guys where hanging out so my friend and I went to talk to them. I noticed the kids getting close to a nearby river, so I left the conversation to watch them. During the conversation, one of the guys communicated that he was a believer already and the other guy prayed to receive Christ. The Christian guy made plans to take him to church that following Sunday.

In May 2018, Jeremy and Dara  Adams answered the Lord's call to move to SE Asia to work for the Jesus Film Project. They have worked for Cru, the U.S. ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ since 2006 as missionaries in Slovakia with students. In Thailand, they have continued with Cru under the Jesus Film Project.  They helped translate the movie as a resource for planting churches among the unreached people groups in Thailand and the surrounding countries.

In February 2019, they partnered with different organizations using agricultural projects as a platform to grow God's Kingdom.  They are now serving under Global Service Network.

Slovakia and Kris Swiatocho

Picts from 2004 and my time in Slovakia.
In 2004 I took my first overseas mission trip. I visited Kosice, Slovakia and Poland. While in Slovakia, I stayed with my great friend and fellow missionary Stacy Sample, on staff with Cru. Stacy was working in Kosice on the local college campus. She introduced to me to a new believer, single adult Dara Strakova. I fell in love with the ministry in Slovakia and started to support Stacy Sample. I would eventually also start support Dara as she too would join staff. She eventually met Jeremy, another Cru staff and they would get married and have 5 kids. God has moved them around the world, blessing their ministry. I would continue my work in Slovakia and have return several times, working with Jarka Simka, a now former Cru staff member. To think, the work all started with one single, ministering to another for Jesus and look where God has brought us.
