Ministry in Slovakia
Slovakia has become a meaningful place of ministry through my partnerships with Jarka Šimková of Eden Ministry and missionaries Jeremy and Dara Adams of Global Missions Network. Together, we are committed to strengthening the local church, equipping leaders, and sharing the hope of Jesus Christ throughout the region.
Each year, I travel to Slovakia to speak at women's conferences, leadership gatherings, Bible studies, and church events, while also investing in one-on-one discipleship and ministry encouragement. It has been a joy to encourage pastors, ministry leaders, and believers as they faithfully serve their communities and make disciples.
Our partnership continues throughout the year through mentoring, prayer, Zoom meetings, and ministry planning. Together, we seek ways to strengthen existing ministries, encourage Christian leaders, and expand opportunities for outreach and discipleship. I am also honored to support the vision of Jeremy and Dara Adams as they serve through Ekklesia Church and the Missions House, creating a place where people can grow in their faith, receive encouragement, and be equipped for ministry.
It is a privilege to partner with these faithful leaders as we invest in the next generation, strengthen the Church, and proclaim the Gospel throughout Slovakia.

Jarka Simka, 421 910 190 068, [email protected] Where it all started...Slovakia and Kris Swiatocho, 2004In 2004, I took my first overseas mission trip. I visited Kosice, Slovakia, and Poland. While in Slovakia, I stayed with my great friend and fellow missionary Stacy Sample, on staff with Cru. Stacy was working in Kosice on the local college campus. She introduced me to a new believer, single adult Dara Strakova. I fell in love with the ministry in Slovakia and started to support Stacy Sample. I would eventually also start supporting Dara as she too would join staff. She eventually met Jeremy, another Cru staff member, and they got married and had 5 kids. God has moved them around the world, blessing their ministry. I would continue my work in Slovakia and have returned several times, working with Jarka Simka, a now former Cru staff member. To think, the work all started with one single ministering to another for Jesus, and look where God has brought us.

Ministry Focus
Our ministry has a two-fold focus: providing a place of rest where missionaries can meet with God, and building intentional relationships within our community. Preparing to Host We are renovating a building on our property to serve as a guest space for missionaries. We hope to bring one or two teams or individuals to help with the rebuilding, with the goal of opening it by the end of the summer. Building Intentional Relationships Building relationships is woven into every part of our daily lives. This happens naturally through our children’s school, relationships with neighbors, students, church life, and friendships that began before our years in Thailand. We are intentionally investing in relationships with our neighbors, including Tomáš and Veronika, praying that they would grow spiritually and eventually join our church. In February, we plan to start a small group, inviting neighbors and others into a space for connection and spiritual growth. Hospitality plays a key role in this, as we regularly invite people into our home for meals and fellowship. Teaching and Discipleship Teaching and discipleship continue to be important parts of our ministry. Jeremy is co-leading the church youth group and recently spent two Sundays teaching students how to share their testimonies. Discipleship also happens through regular one-on-one meetings, including ongoing time with Stano. I have also joined a men’s group at church that meets weekly on Fridays, with a strong desire to see these men grow and develop honest, open relationships with one another. Dara has a heart for investing in women. Last month, she hosted a prayer gathering for Christian women in our home, centered on reflecting on God’s goodness. Continued Language Learning Alongside all of this, I continue to invest in language learning, believing it is essential for deeper relationships and long-term ministry effectiveness.
