I was asked by a mutual friend to come and share about my ministry and the work I am doing in the UK. I expected to do my normal thing, share about the ministry, give out some prayer cards and let folks decide the next step. But this night would be a little different.
As we sat around the kitchen table, Bob, Lili's son would share a little bit about the ministry and the work they were doing. He introduced his mom as she was busy preparing dinner and told me she was 96. "I was like, really, 96?" Wow! Everyone at dinner proceeded to ask me many questions about the work I was doing. We finished dinner and then came into the living room. Bob asked me if I mind having some praise and worship before we continued. I said "Sure, I love praise and worship." Wow and let me tell you, they knew how to praise our Lord.
As Bob played and sang, as if he was just playing to our Savior, Lily would go and get two flags to wave. "The red one represents his blood, the green one his life," she said. And then, she started. She wave the flags and danced. She danced for our Lord, our father, our friend. She danced to say thank you. She danced to praise Him. In the middle of one song she came over to me and hugged me. She shared how when she was young she was a dancer. And some health issues that Jesus would later heal her from had stopped her dance career. So for now, she just dances for the Lord.
I would continue to share about the ministry, taking in more questions about single adults and the need to minister to them. Then we got a phone call from the founders of the ministry, Lindy and Danny Bravo who were in Malaysia doing missions. Lindy was sick with the flu. They were asking for prayers. We prayed for them both. The group introduced me to Danny and then he turned the tables and just started praying for me in regards to singles. Sure, he could have just prayed something generic but he spoke the words to pray for singles. My heart just swelled up with joy. God truly hears our prayers and our cries.
We ended the evening with everyone praying for me and the ministry. What a joy it was to receive prayer. I believe singles ministry is under major spiritual attack these days. Join me today in being a prayer warrior for single adult and the ministry to them.
