Well, I had a wonderful silver lining last night that helped me to understand my roll where I work. Two of my young singles had come to me to tell me something. Recently I was away at a leaders retreat and had to find some singles from the class I personally teach to be prayer warriors during our Sunday school hour in the prayer room. They would be praying for the church service while it was going on. I had called on Monday to find out how things went because I had heard from someone else they were in Sunday school which meant they weren't in the prayer room. I expected to hear about this from our prayer minister. Anyway, besides hearing how it went I was also curious about how well they got a long. You see I purposely put these two young ladies together because in the past they told me they didn't care for each other. I figured if they could come together in unity..praying for our church then they would find common ground and a way to get a long.
So here we were, sitting in the conference room. One of them quickly speaks first and says they went to the wrong prayer hour and they were sorry. I was like, huh? Well, they said, we went to the 9am and because no one was there we figured it was OK or maybe we were supposed to be there. I told them that it was OK and perhaps they were needed especially if no one had showed up. They proceeded to tell me how they prayed through the list and then went on to things not on the list including the walls and the chairs in the room. We laughed together as they shared more of their time together. Then almost at the same time they said, "we found out we like each other. " One girl said the other was a "cool chick." Wow, they like each other. It worked. Ministry can work. LOL.
So what did I learn...in the midst of the dark clouds, wait, the SON always comes out.
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
