A smile came over my friends face. Yes, it was going to be expensive and yes, she hated to spend the money but just 3 weeks earlier God had asked her to put some money into her savings account for emergencies. Well, guess how much? The exact to the penny amount it was going to cost to have the trees removed. You see God does really own all the money and all the earth. He just wants to see if we are going to trust him in using it.
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4
I love this verse. I love the fact that God has me to the end, and even beyond for those who trust in Him. I love that he will keep me going when there are days I want to quit. That he will provide what I need to pay my bills, have something fixed or cut down. I love that he will give me energy when I am drained, and rescue me from situations that overwhelm me. Thank you Lord that through a story of trees toppling over in a summer storm, you prevail to show us your love and your provision.
