You see for those who may be reading this blog might not know but I have been speaking/teaching for more years than I can count. Not that I am best that is out there but is definitely my calling to work God's purpose in my life. What was so great about what this lady said to me was where I WAS spiritually when she said it. I could have been, well, yes, of course, I am already speaking professionally. Don't you know who I am? LOL. Because to be honest, I have struggled in the past with this. I have wonder why perhaps my books haven't sold more or I haven't been on the cover of this magazine or someone hasn't called me to be one of the speakers for "Women of Faith". I am sure anyone who speaks professionally or has a ministry has wondered why some people go farther than others. Why there is a perception of more success. But then God reminds me that we are all successful "fully" as long as we are doing what He has called us to do. Will some speakers/singers/pastors, etc., be famous, having their own TV show, yes and some not so famous because they are in a church of 100 people, yes. But we must remember that the fruit we produce is valued by God. We have no way of knowing all of who we have touch in our lives and the fruit it has created. God has places us where we are to do HIS work. We have to be careful and not get caught up on worldly success versus God's success.
So, have I had to eat crow sometimes when I have gotten a little full of myself...as if I really was the one speaking or teaching, yes. But thankfully, my God has taught me humility. To be gracious for whatever "success". To be thankful for getting to do this work. To be thankful that He is still able to use me. To just be thankful.
1 Chronicles 29:13
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
