I have always known that we are stronger when we are a team. Even though there are times we don't like our teammates, understand the goal, agree with the methods, etc. we do know the power of our team comes from the numbers, the gifts that we have and use, and the desire and act of working together. In John 10:10 we know the goal of the enemy is to steal, kill and destroy. Satan does his best work when we are alone and vulnerable. When we are alone we have little accountability. When we are alone we have pity parties, sin, get discouraged and quit things. When we are alone, the enemy pounces on us quickly, often leaving no chance to bounce back. Bottom line, we need each other. We need each other for strength, for courage, for accountability, for ideas, for suggestions, for direction, for prayer, etc.
In Ephesians 3:14-21 we are encourage at the prayer that that the Lord would strengthen us with his power though his Spirit. But he reminds us that this power is stronger when we are together. This as we are together, learning, growing, encouraging, etc. we are at our strongest. Strong to help each other. Strong to stand against the enemies attacks. Strong to keep moving forward. Strong in doing the Lords work.
So next time you get hurt by someone at church, at your work, in your family and feel its better to go alone, realize its the enemy who wants you to be alone, not God. Pray and ask God to reveal how you can be a better team player.
Ephesians 3: 14-21
For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
