This past Saturday I spoke at Connect 4, my own local singles ministry on Ephesians 3. It's where Paul first talks about his situation of being on house arrest for yet again, sharing his faith. He goes on to share of being chosen by God, not taking it lightly, keeping himself humble. He also talks about how we all have been given different gifts to do the same work as he does by the power of the Holy Spirit working through us. Despite Paul's situation, which should have been very stressful, he was calm. Even though he may have been stretched to the point of breaking, he didn't break. So how did he do this? Well, time--growth in the Lord, sanctification, maturity, repeat times in the fire, repeat threats, etc. Paul, who we know at one time was very stressed and fearful to the point of killing Christian's was now telling us, "hey, don't worry about me being in prison, I am here because you got to hear the truth about Christ." Wow, I want to be there. I want to know that every plate in the air, every rubber band stretched is really just another situation for God to shine, for the Lord's glory to be revealed. I want that peace that comes with maturity that doesn't allow traffic lights, late people, bills, etc, to change me. That even when the worse situation comes, I can be like Paul and say to God be the glory.
To all of you, I pray God's richest blessings on your this week in the final days leading up to his death and resurrection that without we would not be here or eventually there, with him for all eternity. Happy Resurrection Day!
